Antibody Storage & Handling Guide
Proper storage is essential for maintaining antibody activity and specificity.
Storage Guidelines
- Store at -20°C for long-term storage (up to 1 year)
- For short-term use (up to 1 month), store at 4°C
- Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles - aliquot and freeze
- Add 50% glycerol for storage at -20°C without freezing
- Keep antibodies in the dark to prevent photodamage
- Do not use sodium azide with HRP-conjugated antibodies
Handling Tips
- Vortex briefly and centrifuge before use
- Use fresh pipette tips to avoid cross-contamination
- Keep antibodies on ice during experiments
- Dilute in appropriate buffer just before use
